This guide walks you through accepting a Payout as an Individual on Gigapay. As an Individual, Gigapay handles tax and social contributions on your behalf.
Before You Begin
Make sure you have completed the following before accepting your first Payout:
Your profile information (name, date of birth, citizenship)
A valid Tax Identification Number (TIN)
Your contact details (email address)
Your residential address
A payment method set up (bank account or Swish)
Step 1: Open Your Payout
When a Payout is available, you will receive an email notification with a link. Click the link, or log in and open the Payout from the My Payouts list on your Home page. You can filter the list by status, Client or currency, and download it as a CSV.
Step 2: Review the Payout Summary
The summary shows a full breakdown of your Payout:
Gross amount: The total amount before deductions
Tax: Income tax deducted by Gigapay
Payroll contributions: Social security contributions
Pension: Pension contributions (if applicable)
Health insurance: Health insurance contributions (if applicable)
Fee: Gigapay's processing fee
Net amount: The amount you will receive
Currency: The Payout currency
If Early Pay is available, you will see an option to receive your Payout faster for an additional fee.
Step 3: Check Your Details
The Your details section shows your Entity type, legal name and country. Click More details to see the rest of your profile.
To change anything, click Manage entity details. A panel opens on the right where you can update your information; the Payout refreshes as soon as you save, so you never leave the page.
Your Entity Type should show Individual. If it shows Sole Trader or Company by mistake, change it from the same panel; see Changing Entity Type.
Step 4: Choose How You Get Paid
The How you get paid section lists your payment methods. Each one shows the fee that applies and the amount you receive, so you can compare before choosing. Your default method is pre-selected and marked Default.
Your choice applies to this Payout only. Picking a different method here does not change your default for future Payouts.
To add or edit a method, click Manage payment methods. A panel opens where you enter your details and save; the Payout refreshes with the new method selected. If a method says "You haven't set up this method yet", add it from the same panel or via Set up in Settings.
If this is your first Payout and you have no saved method, you will see a single Choose how to get paid button instead.
As an Individual, the following payment methods are available:
Method | Availability | Required Fields |
Swish | Sweden only | Phone number (must be registered with your personnummer) |
IBAN Transfer | EU/SEPA region | IBAN, BIC, Account holder name |
Bank Transfer (BBA) | Australia | Account number, BSB code, Account holder name |
Bank Transfer | USA / Canada | Account number, Routing/Transit number, Account type |
PayPal is no longer offered as a payout method. Please add a bank account instead.

Step 5: Review the Terms
Before accepting, you must agree to:
Terms and conditions: Gigapay's standard terms of service.

Swedish employment contract (Sweden only): If you are a Swedish resident working as an Individual.

You will be redirected to a confirmation page showing:
A success message

How to opt in: Select "Get Paid Today" before clicking Accept.
After Accepting
Processing: Your Payout moves to "Processing" status.

Common Issues
"My Payout shows a red warning."
Warnings tell you what needs fixing before you can accept, and include a button that takes you straight to it. For example, a Payout in a foreign currency may require you to be registered as a Sole Trader or Company; click Manage entity details to change your Entity Type.
"I cannot accept the Payout."
Make sure all personal information sections are complete (no red indicators).
Make sure you have a valid payment method selected.
Make sure you have accepted all required terms.
"My Payout says it has been routed to another country."
This means the Client registered you with a different country than the one on your Gigapay account. You do not need to change anything. Contact Gigapay Support and we will correct it for you so you can accept the Payout.
"Where is my money?"
After accepting, Payouts typically take 1 to 5 business days depending on your payment method and bank.
IBAN transfers: 1 to 3 business days.
Swish: Usually instant.
