Understanding Payout Statuses and Fees

Learn about payout statuses and how fees work in Gigapay

Updated over a week ago

Understand the different payout statuses and how fees work when sending payouts through Gigapay.

Payout Statuses

As a payout moves through the system, it goes through the following statuses:

  • Not Funded: The payout has been created, but the associated invoice has not been paid yet. Fund the invoice to move the payout forward.

  • Onboarding Incomplete: The payout is waiting for the recipient to complete their Gigapay onboarding. The recipient will be notified once they finish.

  • Notified: The payout is active and the recipient has been notified. They can now claim it.

  • Completed: The recipient has accepted and received the payout.

  • Cancelled: The payout was cancelled before the recipient claimed it.

How Fees Work

When you create a payout, Gigapay shows a pricing breakdown before you confirm:

  • Gross amount: The total cost to you, including fees.

  • Gigapay fee: The service fee charged by Gigapay.

  • Net amount: The amount the recipient receives.

Fee details depend on your company's agreement with Gigapay.

Where to See Fees

  • During payout creation: A price summary table appears after you add payouts to the payment list. It shows the total per currency.

  • On the confirmation screen: The project details include pricing and the OCR number for your invoice.

  • In the Payments list: Click any payout to open the side panel and view the full breakdown.

How to Pay

After creating payouts, you choose how to pay:

  • Card: Available for totals under 250,000 in your currency. Payouts are processed immediately.

  • Invoice: Generate an invoice with a due date. You can add a reference, download a pro forma PDF, and pay on your terms. Payouts are processed once the invoice is paid.
