Invitation and Getting Started
I have not received an invitation code. What should I do?
The invitation code is sent to the email address your Client provided to Gigapay. If it has not arrived after a reasonable time:
Check your spam, junk, or promotions folder.
If you have multiple email addresses, check all of them.
Ask your Client to verify the email address they used and resend the invitation if needed.
If the issue persists, reach out to us via in-app chat or email support@gigapay.com.

Make sure you are entering the code exactly as it appears in the email. Codes are case-sensitive. If it still does not work, reach out to us via in-app chat or email support@gigapay.com and include the email address associated with your invitation.

No, invitation codes do not expire. You can use your code at any time to complete your onboarding.
Can I forward my invitation to someone else?

Yes. If you want an agency or team member to manage your account, you can forward the invitation email to them. They can use the link to set up the account on your behalf.

Can I change my email address during onboarding?
Can I change my email address during onboarding?
Yes. During the email verification step, you can change the displayed email to a different address. This is useful if you want an agency or team member to receive Payout notifications instead.

Every Gigapay account requires a unique email address. If the email is already linked to another account, you need to use a different email or contact Gigapay Support to resolve the conflict.
Are you representing a creative other than yourself?

Yes. You can delegate access by using a different email address during onboarding. This is useful for agencies or team members who manage Payouts for you.

All other countries: 18 years or older
What is "Country of Residence"?
What is "Country of Residence"?
This is the country where you legally reside. We use it to determine how tax compliance works and where your Payouts are sent. Select the country that matches your legal residency to avoid verification delays.
Can I change my country of residence after onboarding?

No. Once your country is set, you cannot change it yourself. If you have moved to a new country, click "Contact Us to Change" in the app so we can help with the necessary compliance updates.
What does "Are you an agency, a manager or representing a creative?" mean?
What does "Are you an agency, a manager or representing a creative?" mean?
Check this box if you are an agency, a manager, or representing a Creative. Agency accounts have some restrictions, for example, they cannot use BankID and cannot change Entity Type without contacting support.
Identity Verification
What is a Tax Identification Number (TIN)?
What is a Tax Identification Number (TIN)?
A TIN is a number issued by your country's tax authority for identification purposes. You can find it on your passport, national ID card, driver's license, or tax documents. The format varies by country.
My TIN or VAT number is not being accepted.
This is often due to formatting or cross-border settings:
Check the format: Remove any spaces or special characters. The app shows the expected format below the field.
Cross-border status: If you are a Company or Sole Trader, your VAT/TIN must be registered for cross-border transactions (EU VIES validated). A number valid locally but not internationally will be rejected.
Why was my ID or document upload rejected?
Common reasons include:
Blurry text: Details are not readable.
Cut-off corners: All four corners of the document must be visible.
Glare: Flash reflection covering your name or photo.
Expired document: Your ID must be currently valid.
Retake the photo in good lighting, on a flat surface, with all corners visible.

Our compliance team reviews accounts within 3 to 5 business days. If we need additional documents, you will receive an email. Check your spam folder if you have not heard back.

First, check your email (including spam) for messages from our compliance team. If you have not received anything, reach out to us via in-app chat or email support@gigapay.com so we can check your status.

No. Due to financial regulations, we require a physical residential address (or physical business address for Companies).
Do I need to enter a state or province?

State/province is required only for USA, Canada, and Australia. For all other countries, this field is not shown.
What if my address country does not match my residence country?

The system will show a warning. This can be normal in some cases. You can proceed, but verify your address is correct to avoid compliance delays.
Entity Type
What is the difference between Individual, Sole Trader, and Company?
What is the difference between Individual, Sole Trader, and Company?
Individual: You work as a private person. Gigapay handles tax and social contributions. You can use Swish (Sweden), IBAN, PayPal, and bank transfers.
Sole Trader: You operate a registered sole proprietorship. You handle your own invoicing and taxes. Swish is not available.
Company: You work through a registered Company. Company-specific invoicing applies. Swish is not available.

If you have not finished onboarding, you may be able to go back. If you have already submitted your details, contact Gigapay Support right away so we can reset your Entity Type.
Do I need a VAT number as a Sole Trader?
Do I need a VAT number as a Sole Trader?
VAT is optional for Sole Traders in some countries but required in others. If your country requires it, the field will be marked as required. For Companies, VAT is always required.

What is BankID?
What is BankID?
BankID is a digital identification solution used in Sweden. If you are a Swedish resident, you can use "Continue with BankID" during onboarding for faster, secure identity verification.
Why can I not use BankID?
Why can I not use BankID?
BankID is only available for Swedish residents and is disabled for agency accounts. If you are Swedish but cannot use BankID, make sure you have not checked the "agency" box.
